Doodle 4 Google, a competition started by Google, is a yearly affair wherein students of class 1 to 10 are invited to showcase their creativity by doodling on a given theme and have it featured on www.google.co.in. Google has announced the Doodle 4 Google competition for the year 2018 as well. The theme for 2018 is ‘What Inspires Me?’ School students can use any material from crayons to clay to create the story or thought that inspires them. The winners get a chance to win a scholarship of up to INR 5 Lakh and tech packages for schools.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility Google India gives an opportunity to school students to present their artwork in the form of doodles. The parents/guardians of the contestants can also enter the contest on their behalf. Complete details of the eligibility criteria are given below:
- Doodle 4 Google is open to Indian students of class 1 to 10 studying in any school of India.
- The applicants must have taken permission of their parents and/or guardians and/or school teachers to enter the contest and have agreed to bound by the rules of the contest.
- Employees, interns, contractors, officials and all the affiliates or representative are not eligible to apply.
- Previous years’ national winners and group winners can participate but are not eligible to receive the National Winner’s prize.
Benefits An expert panel of judges from Doodle 4 Google contest will choose one national winner, four group winners and twenty national finalists. Find below the complete details of the awards these winners will receive on being selected.
- The national winner will get his/her doodle displayed on Google.com of India. He/she will receive a college scholarship of INR 5,00,000, a technology package of INR 2,00,000 for his/her school, a certificate/trophy of achievement, a trip to the office of Google India and Googley Swag.
- The four group winners will get their doodles displayed on the Doodle 4 Google gallery. They will also receive trophy/medal of recognition, certificate of achievement, trip to the office of Google India and Googley Swag.
- The twenty national finalists will get their doodles featured on the gallery of Doodle 4 Google, certificate of achievement and Googley Swag.
How can you apply? The application process of Doodle 4 Google can be either be submitted online or through the mail. Given below is the complete details about how to submit the entry for the contest.
Step 1: Visit the website for details.
Step 2: Download and take a print out of the entry form.
Step 3: Create the doodle.
Step 4: The creation must contain the Doodle title, Doodle description in about 50 words.
Step 5: The creation must contain personal and school details (parents/guardian name, address, email id, phone, participant name, grade, school name and address with phone number).
Step 6: The parent/guardian has to sign the entry form to acknowledge the application.
Step 7: There are two ways to apply.
If applying online- Scan the entry form, upload here after filling online application and submit it.If applying by post- Carefully pack the doodle in an envelope so that it doesn’t get damaged, affix the proper postage, and post it to the following address:

Selection Criteria
The doodles selected by the contestants will be judged on the following parameters:
- Artistic merit: It is based on the artistic skill which involves drawing skills and use of colour.
- Creativity: The doodle is judged on the basis of representation of the contest’s theme ‘What inspires me?’, use of letters in the google logo and the contestant’s unique and fresh approach to the doodle.
- Theme communication: This parameter checks how well the contest’s theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement used in the doodle.
The submitted doodles will be judged as per the following class groups:
- Class 1 to 2
- Class 3 to 4
- Class 5 to 6
- Class 7 to 8
- Class 9 to 10

Terms and Conditions
- The completed entry form should be printed on a light-coloured sheet of paper of size 8.5"X11" and signed by a parent/legal guardian.
- Entries submitted without a complete entry form or the signature of parents/guardians/teachers will be rejected.
- Only one entry per entrant is allowed. The rest of the entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified.
- Machine or computer-generated mass entries will be disqualified.
- The doodle must not contain any derogatory, offensive, threatening, defamatory, disparaging, libelous, inappropriate, indecent, sexual, profane, tortuous, slanderous, discriminatory in any way, or that promotes hatred or harm against any group or person, or otherwise.
- The doodle must not violate any federal, state, or local laws and regulation including the laws or regulations of any state where the doodle and supporting statement are created.
- The content of the doodle must not contain any content, material or element that displays any third-party advertising, slogan, logo, trademark, representation of characters indicating a sponsorship or endorsement by a third party, commercial entity.
- The doodle must be original.
- The doodle should be two-dimensional and scannable.
